"Respect for tradition and culture of genuineness translate into our excellent wine." Cristina Franco - Owner

Tenuta Capri is located in Grazzano Badoglio at the centre of Monferrato Astigiano area, listed as Unesco World Heritage Site. With a long story, built on the family’s passion for the agricultural industry, it does not focus only on the cultivation of vineyards, but it also includes olive and hazel trees. Its story began in the 20th century, when grandpa Bernardo, helped by his father-in-law, started the cultivation of vineyards and the viticulture activity, even though the production was destined only for the family and friends’ consumption. In the 80's, his son Pierluigi Bruno, a great passionate of the agricultural and wine industry, began his winemaking career. However, the commercialization of their wines started only recently.

The family supervises the entire winemaking process, from vine growing and vinification to bottling and direct sale of the products, respecting the traditions. This is a small company focused on the quality of Barbera wine, obtained using the old traditions handed down from father to son with a special attention to the new technologies.

Our Barbera wine "Barbera d'Asti DOCG Azienda Agricola Capri" is made from 100 % Barbera red grapes, grown on a sunny calcareous and clay-rich soil. The simple Guyot is the vine training and pruning system used by Tenuta Capri. Grapes are harvested in the second half of September, when the fruits have reached the optimal ripeness. After crushing, the fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, where the ageing continues for six months. The wine remains for other six months in the cellar before being sold.
